Jimmy Dietz (Jeffrey William Dietz) passed away Friday March 7th at his home in Seattle Washington, surrounded by his family, wife Paige and daughter Molly. After receiving a bone marrow transplant, Jim struggled through numerous setbacks with great courage, grace, and dignity.
Jimmy knew he wanted to be a doctor at the age of five years old. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in 1978, Jim settled in Marin County California and started his long career in emergency medicine. Dr Jeffrey “Jim” Dietz is known for his unwavering commitment to compassionate care and kindness for his patients, staff and physicians. Jimmy set the example at Marin General for his colleagues to follow and was a most respected leader, colleague, and friend.
Jimmy and I grew up across the street from each other on Wetherill Rd in Cheltenham. We met when we were three years old. We were fortunate to have enjoyed a wonderful friendship for over sixty-eight years. A most difficult loss, but so very thankful to have had the privilege of sharing our journeys, happiness, challenges and successes. We mutually supported each other all along the way. Although we have lived far apart for many years, we always remained as close as neighbors across the street from each other.
Amy and I extend our deepest sympathy to Paige and Molly, as well as his siblings- John, Andy, and Melissa . We will all miss him dearly.
Warm Regards, Buzz Sichel

Wow! Just seeing this now, and reading Buzzy's remarks. Jimmy was one of my favorites going back to Rowland School. Alot of Great memories. What a great kid - so glad we got to catch-up at the 50th. We would have been looking for each other at the 55th. So sorry to his family - I'm sure you'll miss him dearly. But as you know, you're wonderful memories will never fade.
