Discovered 1.5 years ago that I have the Braca2 gene defect. 1/40 Ashkenzi Jews have this gene. This gene destroys cells that have other genetic defects. Those with this genetic defect are unable to prevent cancers, specifically prostate, breast, cervical, ovarian, and Pancreatic. The body is not able to fight back against them. So those with this defect have a high chance of developing these cancers which grow rapidly. I found this out when I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer that had spread throughout my body. It is in remission. On average it takes 2 years until the cancer comes back. The treatment to keep this in remission has caused me to lose most of my lean muscle mass. Just getting off the sofa or standing is exhausting. I will meet my doctor next week. The treatment is not compatible with life. Not sure what my options are. Trying tp manage everythign needed now.

After years of struggling in maintaining relationships and developing friends, I’ve come to the understanding that I’m on the autistic spectrum. When one meets someone from another country, you understand that they speak differently maybe have different ways of interacting and you accept that.

But if someone born here doesn’t act quite right, we just consider them weird or bothersome. I’ve been learning a lot about how I think differently from other people and communicate differently. Sometimes it’s like speaking a different language. I am happy I’m connecting with other people on the spectrum, and realizing it many of the difficulties I’ve had over the years.
